I have been given a small plot in neighbours garden for growing veg.  I have not grown winter veg before and wondered what I could grow over the cold months.  Any ideas greatly received.

Hi Loubylou

I am not a winter veg grower, but winter kale comes to mind, also garlic and onions, other than that I can not offer any suggestions.

Hi, now is the time to plant Garlic & Autumn onion sets, you can also sow Broad Beans & some varieties of Pea will also stand the Winter.

Didn't take any photos.  Purple sprouting broccoli was good.  Other plants like brussels didn't fair so well.  Have got started for this year with the use of a greenhouse.  The veg patch has had well rotted horse manure on one half over winter.  Taken out the sad plants and have used bought manure to put on other half.  As soon as some of the seeds from greenhouse are ready hopefully so will the patch of garden.  Looking forward to planting out.
