It is unlikely that that cuttings in August they will have formed tubers yet (maybe very very small ones!). Keep them in their pots in a frost-free greenhouse this year. Ensure the soil is on the dry side to discourage rotting. Growth slows and stops during the decreasing day length and cooler temperatures. Grow them on next summer, and by this time next year they should have formed sizeable tubers.
