For some reason I can not attach the photos I will find another way.

Lets try this again, I have made them significantly smaller now.

Slugs & Snails, they love new Daylily shoots, the plants will be fine, if you go out after dark with a torch you will probably find the culprits.
Thank you so much Hemeroholic I shall go out armed with my torch and container of salt and nail the little blighters, I was so worried it might have been more serious pests.
These are such a wonderful golden yellow colour I forget their name but they were named varieties and resembled an oriental lily .

Well I have been out with my trusty torch each night and several slugs have met a salty end 🙂 Still far to many to control particularly those little grey ones that come out when the grass is dewy.

Last year my Daughter bought me some lovely day lilies for mothers day, later I noticed some tiny black beatles crawling up the leaves and flying away, they were very small and were definitely not vine weavils.
My day lilies are starting to come through this year and are being eaten by something and I have no idea what, I can not see any obvious pests on them just the effect they are having on my plants. I would love to know if anyone can identify these pests so I can treat my plants.
Many thanks
Carol
