It's worse when ants invade our garden and harm our plants. Using natural ways to get rid of ants also prevent them from regrouping again. There are a number of effective home remedies to rid yourself of these annoying pests and you don't need to resort to commercial pesticides. Some are:

- Planting mint around your garden or foundation will give you lasting protection.

- Sprinkle cinnamon powder or cloves where you find ants.

- A mixture of sugar, borax powder and a cup of warm water also works.

- Put orange and lemon peels in very hot water and leave it for several hours, even overnight. Then strain the liquid and pour it around any plants that ants are attracted to.

There are many more! Using natural repellents makes sure your home and garden remain unattractive to ants and it also prevent a re-infestation. But if you are unable to deal with the problem completely, best is to consult pest exterminator to get your problem handled right. They may also inspect the areas for you and suggest some important points to note.
