Help me make my Wedding Toast special (4 replies)
Hi BloomingBride,
Don't know if you'll be able to grow a huge amount between now and June for "home brewing" but things like mint and other herbs can be grown form seed for adding to drinks, the same with raspberries and strawberries can be used to infuse ready bought vodka etc. So it would be almost home brewed but definitely hand made by you!
Wishing you all the very best for your big day!
Old Gardeners never die, they just throw in the trowel
Oooooo
Thanks Graham, I've just moved into my house and discovered I have a Raspberry bush in my front garden so that would be great. Have you ever made anything like that?
I really wanna make Strawberry Vodka though! That would get the party off with a bang!
Is it too late to make wine then?
Thanks again 🙂
We have had great success with Rhubarb Schnapps. After eating more crumble than anyone ever should, we filled mason jars with rhubarb and vodka. After leaving it for a few months it gets very syrupy and incredibly sweet.
That sounds yummy M!
Thank you for the advice 🙂 That is the only problem with Rhubarb that it's so easy to grow you have way too much. I might raid my future Father-in-Law's allotment to see what treasures I could borrow (steal) he he.
Thanks again!!

Hi Guys
I'm new to the whole gardening forum and am an extremely novice gardener so I need your help. I'm getting married next June and I would love to make my own wine/gin/vodka etc. for the toasts and to hand out as favours. We've already planned to have a Prosecco table with flavoured liqueurs so guests can make their own cocktails but I would really love to have something personally made/brewed for everyone 🙂
I know it can take about 6 months before they are ready to drink so I need to get started pronto!
Any ideas would be so amazing! Thank you 🙂 🙂
