How do I create an account?
    • Click on ‘Create an Account’ (In the Log In box)
    • Type in your new Username, your email address, type in your required password (twice), tick the box agreeing to the guidelines
    • Type in the captcha text
    • Click on the Register button and you will be taken to the Home page. If the registration is successful, your new account name will show in the Login box
    • Type in your new Username and Password and Login
    • You can now edit your profile and add a profile image
Why can’t I use my Thompson & Morgan website account details?

The main Thompson & Morgan website is completely separate from this Forum. As such, the Forum requires a completely separate account.

How do I edit/ update my profile?
    • Log In to your account by entering your username and password in the Login box
    • Click ‘Edit My Profile’ from the Login box
    • Add or update in the information you want to change
    • Click the ‘Update Profile’ button at the bottom
    • Your changes will now have been saved to your account
How do I change my profile image?
  • Log In to your account by entering your username and password in the Login box
  • Click ‘Edit My Profile Image’ in the box below the Log in
  • Click on ‘Choose File’
  • Click on ‘Upload’ button
  • Note: the image will have a square crop so you can play around with the source image until you are happy!
What if I want to change my username
  • Fill in the Contact Form with your Name, Email Address, a note of the name you want deleting and your new Username.
  • On receipt of this we will change your account and attribute any posts you have made to the new account and advise you accordingly.
  • You will, during the change over process, receive an email notifying you of your email address change. This is normal and the email address change is temporary whilst the details are copied over. You can ignore it. A follow up email should be received soon after with a link to change your password.
How do I login?
  • Enter your username and your password in the boxes on the right hand side of the screen
  • Click the ‘Log In’ button
Forgotten username/ password
  • Click on Lost Password in the Log in box
  • Enter your email address
  • Click ‘Restore password’ and you will be emailed a link to your Profile Details fom where you can change your password
How do I change my password?
  • Log In to your account by entering your username and password in the Login box
  • Click ‘Edit my profile’ from the right hand side menu
  • It should have loaded the ‘Change Your Profile Details Here’ page
  • Underneath the titles ‘Change password’ and ‘Re-type your password’ enter your new password
  • Click the ‘Update profile’ button at the bottom
  • Your new password will now have been saved to your account
How do I find posts that may already have the answer to the question I have?
  • Simply enter your question into the search box which is found underneath the title “Search Forum Topics”
  • Click on the red “Search” button
  • Your search results will display and any relevant posts will be returned for you to look through
  • If the search results returned do not answer your question, please feel free to create your own post. Details of how to do this can be found below.
How do I search for a post? / How do I search the forum?
  • Simply enter the term or question you wish to search for into the search box which is found underneath the title “Search Forum Topics”
  • Click on the red “Search” button
  • Your search results will display and any relevant posts will be returned for you to look through
How do I create a new post?
  • Before creating a new post, it is always worth searching the forum to see if your question has already been answered to avoid duplicate posts
  • Log In to your account (you must be logged in to post on the forum)
  • To create a new post go to ‘Forum Home’ and then into the relevant category on the forum in which you wish to create a new post
  • At the bottom of the page, you will see a title that says ‘Post title’. Enter a title for your new post that is clear and descriptive to help others easily identify it
  • Underneath the heading ‘Post’ enter the description of your post/ your question
  • You can attach a file/ image if required (e.g. for the ‘Identification/ What’s that plant?’ category this would be particularly important)
  • Scroll down and click ‘Add New Post’
Why is the title/ subject of my post important?

The posts subject title is important as it helps other members of our community search and find a post which relevant and of interest to them. Making sure it contains relevant keywords, as this will help with the search facility and gives you a better chance of getting answers.

How do I add an image or file to my post?
    • Add your title and content as normal
    • Click on ‘Attach a file…..’ Note: Valid file types are jpg, png, gif, jpeg, txt, rtf, and pdf
    • Browse to where your image is and select it.
    • Click on ‘Add New Post’
What if I make a mistake in my post/ How do I edit my post?
  • Reopen the post that requires changing (you have one hour after the post was created).
  • Hover over the spanner symbol in your post (on the right hand side).
  • Click on “Edit
  • Make the required corrections/changes.
  • Click on “Update Topic
  • You will then see your amended post.
  • If you wish to delete the post, hover over the spanner symbol
  • Cick on “Delete
  • Click on “Yes delete the post” button
  • A message will appear “Post Deleted
What if I post in the wrong forum?
  • You have one hour to amend or delete any post you create
  • To do so, click on the spanner icon on the right of your post
  • Click ‘Delete’
  • Confirm ‘Yes Delete The Post’
  • Create you post in the correct forum topic
  • Or
  • Use the Contact Form and tell us the post that requires moving and we will do the rest
How do I reply to someone else’s post?
  • Log In to your account (you must be logged in to post on the forum)
  • Enter your comment in the box provided
  • You can attach a file/ image if required (e.g. for the ‘Identification/ What’s that plant?’ category this would be particularly important)
  • Click ‘Submit Comment’
How can I receive notifications when someone replies to my post?
  • Log In to your account by entering your username and password in the boxes on the right hand side of the screen
  • Click ‘View/Change Your Profile’ from the right hand side menu
  • It should have reloaded the page and you should now see the ‘Change Your Profile’ page
  • Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and you will see a tick box next to ‘Receive email notifications for activity’
  • Tick the box and then click the ‘Update’ button at the bottom
  • You will then receive notifications when someone replies to your post

Why You Need a Unique Forum Account

Feel free to browse and search the forum for topics that interest you without creating an account. To participate and contribute you will need to register and create an account.

This will enable you to create your own posts, comment on other posts, upload any photos you wish to share and so much more.
