Aquilegias generally prefer a cooler environment, and it is always best to grow plants that are well adapted to your climate as they are more likely to thrive. Aquilegia chrysantha ‘Yellow Star’ is more tolerant of heat than many varieties, and Aquilegia canadensis is also worth a try. However they will both prefer a shaded site.

We sell a number of tree lilies which are all Oriental hybrids. They should survive if the soil is kept moist but may require shade during the hottest part of the day.
