New reply from Florexpert

Hi Andrew,

If your unknown shrub carries on flowering through the winter and if it is fragrant, then that narrows down the plant ID to only three possibilities:

L. fragrantissima

L. standishii

L. x purpusii, which is the result of crossing the 2 species above. This is the most likely candidate, especially the cultivar ‘Winter Beauty’, because of the purple stems. If it ever produces berries, they should be a dull red.

Glad I could help out 🙂

What is this plant?

I am having trouble trying to identify this plant.  I came across it in my garden and someone said it may be a honeysuckle, but I don’t know if this correct or what variety it is.

Any help would be much appreciated 🙂

Thank you.
