Summer fruiting raspberries

Hi. I have some summer fruiting raspberries in my garden and have only just looked into how to prune them. According to advice is should have cut them down to the ground in winter…. which I haven't. And now the canes from last year have started to shoot. Is it too late to cut them down to the ground? Or can I get away with just cutting them to the lowest bud? Help please..
