Without a picture or more specific description, it is difficult to identify the plant accurately. However, some plants with purple leaves and stems include purple fountain grass, purple basil, and Persian shield. You could try researching these plants and see if any of them match your plant's characteristics. Alternatively, you could take a picture of the plant and seek advice from a local gardening center or plant expert.
